COMMUNITY HEALTH PROMOTION IN TROPICAL COUNTRIES : AN INDONESIA–THAILAND COLLABORATIVE PROGRAM
Abstract
Community health challenges in tropical countries remain significant, particularly in relation to infectious diseases, environmental health issues, and lifestyle-related conditions. This community service program aimed to strengthen public awareness and preventive behaviors through collaborative health promotion activities between Indonesia and Thailand. The program implemented health education sessions, interactive discussions, and community engagement strategies focusing on disease prevention, hygiene practices, vector control, and healthy lifestyle promotion.
The activity involved community members and local stakeholders in Thailand, emphasizing promotive and preventive nursing approaches. The results indicated increased community knowledge, improved awareness of disease prevention strategies, and strengthened cross-country academic collaboration. This initiative demonstrates the importance of international partnerships in addressing public health issues in tropical regions through sustainable community-based interventions.
